Vinayak Damodar Savarkar played a crucial role in India’s struggle for independence against British rule. The film narrates the life of Vinayak Damodar Savarkar, beginning with the Bubonic plague of 1897, which claims his father’s life and ignites his revolutionary spirit. Inspired by Shivaji Maharaj and Mazzini, Vinayak founded the Abhinav Bharat Society and later joined Indian revolutionaries in London. He completes a thesis on the 1857 War of Independence and secretly sends weapons to India. Despite meeting Mahatma Gandhi, Vinayak’s approach diverges from Gandhi’s.
The movie shows various revolutionary acts, leading to the arrest and brutal imprisonment of Vinayak and his brother in Kalapani.
